Please join us for a short talk by Sean Ahlquist in the Digital Craft Lab on Thursday, November 12 from 12:30 - 1:00. Sean is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. He has previously taught at the Institute for Computational Design in Stuttgart, University of California-Berkeley and at CCA. His research focuses on material computation through developing articulated material structures and modes of design which enable the study of their material and spatial behaviors. His recent research projects have investigated the use of CNC knitting machines to produce lightweight structures, textile reinforced composites, and tactile and extensible interfaces for physical computing.
